About

I was born in 1969.  I had a happy childhood and was raised by exellent parents.  In high school, I commented about how I never got depressed and how I couldn’t understand those that said they were depressed.  Karma.  Maybe I shouldn’t have made those remarks.

Once I left home for college, I began suffering from deep and painful periods of depression.  I struggled through, not really knowing what to do or how to get better.  Several years later, I went to a physician who prescribed an anti-depressant and recommended I see a therapist.

Fifteen years and several therapists later, I am writing about my experiences in hopes of better understanding myself and my depression.  Although, I value the help that therapists give, I am on the self-help path.  It is my depression: I must learn to deal with it.

Maybe along the way, I can share some of what I learn.  Maybe, through sharing, I can even get help from others.  That is why I started this blog.
